I think so too actually if you’re looking to learn the basics.
Arch has very little actual “distribution” in its system (mostly pacman and mkinitcpio) and the former is a glorified tar with a database, and while it can run scripts, you’re expected to configure and set up everyone yourself using the upstream tools, and these usually come vanilla
I daily drove it for 15 years before I switched so it’s not like Arch is insured for that. But if you want to learn the basics of modern Linux it’s a good choice

I have two windows 11 machines, both from work. The potent machine experiences this bug. The low-end Thinkpad shows the apps instantly.
No clue why they behave differently, but they do
Often times when there was a big new update for GNOME, I’d try it out, decide I still don’t like the concept and go back to plasma.
I don’t get the appeal of that desktop. Even the tiniest changes need gnome-tweaks? Why isn’t that stuff part of the base settings? But ok. You can’t ungimp GNOME. The usage concept is baked into it. Fine. But why?
I mean there must be people who want this and nothing else, otherwise people wouldn’t use it.
I think once you’re at the level of caring about that stuff you’re no longer considered a newbie
Introducing the dummy thiccpad
I will roll into my grave

But at least the price will match theirs
You’re not supposed to modify shipped unit files, that’s why systemd supports drop in snippets
resolved is entirely optional and disabled by default, I use it on case of non-mobile devices but leave it on laptops etc.
DNS resolution isn’t something exotic, it makes sense for systemd to implement it in a simple optional daemon
It’s Stockholm syndrome
I mean who doesn’t like putting mandatory quotes around all variables (though exceptions, like in [[ ... ]], apply)?
Or keywords like fi and esac or worrying about $IFS
I like it (am actually sponsoring) but I’m not sure development is still active. I hope the author finds the time and energy to work on it again it’s someone else picks it up
Almost nobody cares about these features for new shells. POSIX compatibility in my opinion is an anti-feature for interactive shells; for scripts, use the shell referenced in the shebang. There are even newer POSIX compatible shells like oil if you want one of these.

I’m pretty sure AI partners are not the primary reason people don’t have human partners. The issues are systematic and root very deeply. While I do think AI partners are a very toxic and dangerous way out of this, I highly doubt they were the reason people were single in the first place.

If they acted differently, they’d probably be liable for illegal activity that they proxy for (this is for example relevant for the DMCA safe harbor).
Anyhow, when on their abuse page, I have an option for “Registrar”, which is used for “DNS abuse”, among others.

So people from low trust score environments like Linux
Linux user here, Cloudflare hasn’t blocked access to a single page for me unless I use a VPN, which then can trigger it.

It’s been this from the very beginning. But they don’t fit the definition of a protection racket as they’re not the ones attacking you if you don’t pay up. So they’re more like a security company that has no competitors due to the needed investment to operate.
2027 will probably also be bleak, if just for the backlog.
However, I’m pretty sure there’s also a lot of FUD in the current projections since hardware companies want their customers to believe that now is the best time to sign those expensive long-term contracts
