Update, kernel panic happened today, so I updated the BIOS settings:
All the initial values were Auto values. I’ll let it sit for at least a month with no reboots before calling it fixed. I’ll set a reminder

Seems fine for me now. In fact it looks like they switched to Let’s Encrypt for certification so maybe they learned something from last time.
You don’t even have a reliable way to keep track of your disk usage anymore. That was the final drop for me when they removed “Other locations” where I could see how much space was left. The Disk Usage Analyzer app is a complete mess and don’t give an easy “you got 10 gigs left mate.” I had to resort to the terminal to get good accurate measures. Now I have a percentage in my taskbar in Plasma.

I’ll try to remember to update you in 1-2 months then!

For a project I liked I saw that the translation of the UI was only about 1% complete for my native language. I decided to dedicate the weekend to get it above 95%. This was apparently the part that seemed too hard for most to make a dent in, but across several new versions my language is still 100%. I think my groundwork made it easier for some sporadic contributors to get a small bit of dopamine when updating the few new strings in a release to see it hit 100% again.

I’ll try that next time it dies, see if it helps

The server currently runs on 32gig but I was planning on upgrading to 64 or 128gig DDR5. Could go as low as 16 if need be, but the the price is still hurting more than having to reboot 2-4 times a month.

Only thing I wish for Christmas is to be able to replace the RAM and mobo in one of my servers. It is failing with a kernel panic about once a week and it is an old DDR3 platform I planned to upgrade back in January. I have isolated the issue to a hardware fault but left without a solution…

If you want new material, go to a comic show. On the internet you get varying degrees of jokes ranging from “comic material” to “I had 30 seconds to spare while shitting”
I appreciate your effort to make a review of my “30 seconds to spare on the shitter” joke but you can save that the next time. Don’t expect every word out of other people’s mouth to be price winning material.

What? No. That’s validating the joke and respecting the foundation he laid. Comedians constantly reference each others jokes. Haven’t you ever had a back and forth with a friend to make people laugh by building a joke on top of theirs?

A joke is like dissecting a frog. You understand it better but the frog dies in the process. A bad joke is still a bad joke, but the real joke is someone who is whooshing something because he just didn’t get it.

Let me explain my comment because apparently it flew over your head: OC used sarcasm to highlight that they in fact have a horrible reputation. I made a joke to extend on OC’s joke highlighting the fact that they might not even know what a reputation is, let alone reflect over their own.

What reputation?
Definitely, I had also done a lot of investigation and assumed that when I isolated the problem to the RAM there was almost nothing more I could do expect cry and wait for the inevitable torturous moment I’d have to open my wallet amid sky high prices.
