3·1 month agoIsn’t that what Tetris Forever is?

As one of the reviews says
This is a collection of tetris titles in a documentary format. While its missing the true classic titles (gameboy and nes tetris) what it does offer is quite good. You have Famicom Tetris, The original 1984 Electronika 60 version of Tetris, Super Tetris 3, Tetris Gaiden and the new Tetris Time Warp. A game that has you warping to different versions of tetris as you play. All in all a good collection of 16 games for a tetris fan.
Ok but also
winget install mozilla.firefoxIt’s not binary

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•The fact that you can’t run through Windows setup w/o internet and an online account is absolute bullshit
3·2 months agoYeah nixos is a lot of learning and a lot of writing and tweaking .nix files.
That being said, once you have a setup you like that works it means installing on a new machine is mostly just running a couple of install commands and all your apps/settings/environment secrets/anything you’ve declared in your nix config (like dotfiles for apps unsupported by home-manager) come with you and are version controlled on the system and in code.
But it doesn’t work like a normal Linux system, there is no /bin/bash among thousands of other things, so it’s for a niche audience where it’s either a server with infra as code or a desktop that requires a lot of work to maintain but has some incredible advantages (like generations)

For most dev libraries I use
https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager
Which manages
Which manages uv and pyenv and stuff for python, and package managers for just about every other language I dev in.
It’s version managers all the way down lol, but it’s the only way I’ve found to have proper declarative versions within my nix config that don’t rely on the nixpkgs ecosystem changing, and doesn’t require manually managing a package manager for every single language I use

(that’s the actual current maintainer of tcsh and the linux file command lol)
