14·7 days agoProcrastination. Want to move may lab off my pi onto my mini PC.
I have done the backup off the pi, just need to restore it but motivation doesn’t line up when the family is out of the house.

131·10 days agoOK, but if your threat landscape is someone burning 2 zero days (one tail scale, one webmin) you aren’t likely to be posting here for answers you will have security people on call.
Geofencing is always a good option for remote access, no point in allowing someone from Spain to login when you are in Germany.

501·10 days agoIt is almost always a bad idea to place a management interface on the internet. No level of strong password and multifactor auth will protect against an unauthenticated RCE which every language will get, including Perl.
Absolutely stick it behind tailscale.

Thats good. So many places I see just accept that backup job completed without errors means backups are ok.
Its OK, root was preserved
How do you check?
None of my stuff is publicly accessible so yay for not having to take anything offline.
There are quite a few things offline in NL because of this though.

A mini PC is likely a good fit. Depending on the one you have they will have space for an extra nvme drive or a 2.5 inch data ssd.
You can load Proxmox and run as many VMs or lxc K8s workers.
