My limited understanding-
Companies have to pay a fee when someone makes a purchase with a credit card, so gas is generally slightly more expensive with credit card transactions vs cash (and maybe debit?).
If you pay with a debit card, you’re not borrowing money, so I guess it’s closer to cash than it is to credit. In my area, they don’t let you buy lottery tickets with credit cards but you can buy them with debit cards, which I suppose is a good thing. Not sure how gas prices are affected when you pay with debit.

3·1 year agoI have a used model 3 (I bought it before shit really started going downhill) and I’ve been contemplating disconnecting the wifi and cellular antennas. My car wouldn’t be able to send any images/video anywhere, I wouldn’t be tracked except for my location when I stop at supercharger stations, and I would never have to risk getting Grok installed in my car.

0·2 years agoCan someone ELI5? I’m a noob who aspires to set up immich in the near future. I only recently started making efforts to separate myself from the cloud. So far I’ve got a wireguard server set up and I’ve disconnected both my Bambu printers from the cloud and I’m currently setting up some home assistant stuff. Pretty soon I’m hoping to set up a NAS, Immich, Plex (or similar) and replace my google nest cameras.

That’s fucking cool. I’ve always thought the open designs were pretty sweet, this is giving me ideas. If I end up building one I might do something like this with walnut and more brass.
