0.000% of Communism has been built. Evil child-murdering billionaires still rule the world with a shit-eating grin. All they has managed to do is make themself sad.
fun facts about myself: i am always correct and never wrong. if you disagree with me, you are wrong and you should FEEL BAD.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve says full Nvidia GPU support for SteamOS is a top priority and making steady progress, with drivers now in the main tree enabling some cards (though performance still lags).English
9·2 months agoalso, like, if they are using nvidia proprietary drivers there’s nothing they can really do to improve performance. AMD linux driver works so well because it’s open source and some of the main contributors work for Valve. if they aren’t going to use open source nvidia drivers they’d have to kneel before Jensen Huang and beg for a trickle of performance gain 'cause they (steamos) are like a tiny bit of nvidia’s market.

7·2 months agoi think if you compare like-for-like (e.g. vulkan native) they have similar performance? if you need compat layers that’s different, but that’s not a nvidia specific overhead.

163·3 months agoyou can easily periodically switch to randomly generated new addresses if you are so paranoid… your conspiracy theory doesn’t make sense.
and like, your mac address is already globally unique, are you worried about those too?
“it’s easier than windows now” is not “linux always works”
isn’t he trying to say linux fixes the specific problem you were having when he said it? sounds like you are making assumptions.
do people really say “linux always works”?
i think it could be a slippery slope thing. things like
name="value"are easy to parse and implement, but then what if people keep asking for a little bit more, and a little bit more again? bash’s syntax is very very complex, there will be no winners if fish has a half-assed implementation of what bash does, it’s better to not even start.
No, it’d be like, when you asked them do you know what a burger is? They pointed at a picture of a burger on the wall (they put this picture on the wall because for whatever reason people kept asking them to make burgers), and told you, of course we know what a burger is, we don’t make them, now order noodles or get out!
I just wish my local restaurant would accept burger orders in addition.
Like, if you can warn me that “this is a Chinese noodle restaurant, we don’t do burger here. Order one of these instead!” then you could also just, you know, make me a burger!
