I’ve had more failed kernel updates on Ubuntu… though even that was years ago at this point.
i use arch btw.

Only newbs use Ubuntu. You should really be compiling everything from source with Gentoo.

Easier to get features you didn’t even consider, shared testing and bug finding, and shared maintenance burden.
You even shared your code like you where inviting all of those things…

i did this for a good while. Obsidian did great.
i only migrated to mealie because I wanted a better way to share recipes in my household and quickly share them with a shared tablet in the kitchen. Needed to get it out of my personal docs.
I also kinda liked the ability import from url which saves a good 10min transcribing and cleaning up in markdown. Not that i still dont have to cleanup recipes, just it starts in a better place so its quicker.

if only there was a software concept that anticipated this and gave you the ability to own and modify your software…
A lot of recent Ubuntu release upgrades have blown up leaving entirely broken machines. My machines. My home server has some how not been one but several laptops and work servers had to be rebuilt from scratch or deep package hackery from recovery kernels.
I use converted a laptop to arch BTW and haven’t run into this meme irl yet.

If what manxu said is true it might be both courts agree its clear cut. It sounds more like a pull request getting rejected because of quality issues. “Fix it and resubmit. We don’t want this happening again”
I’ve learned courts have a lot of jargon and procedures that don’t make sense on the surface. some things that sound bad actually are for your benefit and it’s best to get a lawyer to translate.
yeah the uploadprogress and multipart are caused by php loading the request into memory and that going over the limit. thats the most straightforward and dangerous and one of the mitigations was limiting uplaod sizes. But they triggered it first using Wordpress to trigger the oom. And it sounds like there are ways to cause the form processing to bail without and oom and trigger a similar pointer reuse.
So the post/upload oom are maybe the most interesting but you can bet if people dont patch we’ll see more involved versions. and since php is hidden in things like routers and server management devices and… thats probably a safe bet.
