“Why do I need to download 7zip? That’s too hard. Everything should be a self-extracting exe!”
A few moments later…

This shit is why I never used the arr stack. Never automate incoming data. It fetches what I intend it to fetch.

There are legimate reasons to underclock.

“You have a face for dial up” has now been added to my nerd insult library, like Guybrush Threepwood’s own.

Archlinux is the distro we all wanted and never deserved. Its documentation is wonderful. OOB is exactly what it promised to be. As long as you avoid the AUR, is fantastic.

I have an LLM running object detection on a b580 that’s also handling camera rotation in frigate. It’s hanging out 95-120 watts
Sir, there’s a reason nobody likes to see the sausage being made.
Excel is the 7th ring of hell
To be fair, neither does the real MS office

It depends. If it hands over at just the right money I have to drag down the screen to make it refresh otherwise it’s fine.
It doesn’t affect me enough to prioritize fixing since I use CarPlay controls to control the garage door so it’s relating a request to the app rather than taking an input to a UI with stale expectations. I suspect an Android shortcut would respond the same way.

Automation trigger: I go off my home WiFi SSID
Action: activate WireGuard vpn to my home.
Trigger: I join home WiFi
Action: disconnect WireGuard VPN
This solved my garage problems without an app.

We don’t talk about Bruno.

Easy is dangerous. It gave us abusable defaults. It gives us windows and macOS. And turned into a hostage situation.
Linux works because the second someone gets bitchy, you can migrate. Even the components can’t tie you down. Bcachefs was so cool and really promising, but Kent had a psychotic break and we just moved away and didn’t get sucked into his gravity well. Imagine that situation on windows. “Well, copilot is is everything and NVMe drives can explode randomly now.”
Alpine is dead simple if used for what’s it’s good at. The LBU is its best feature. It’s great on shitty ARM boards that digest SD cards. I use it on NUT servers throughout my network.

I did this for a friends buisness when we build a small rack for frigate, backup, etc. it’s been great. Cost more up front but I am super envious of her build.

That’s exactly what I was thinking too. I might actually look more into this once I get my frigate build under control.
God I hate arguing with podman. Something doesn’t work and I can’t tell if it’s my quadlet or the app
This is still true but I find you are using bcachefs where every update is a death threat.
I’ve never gotten DIY routers including opnsense to give gigabit line speeds once VLANs are enabled.
