I don’t have a link either, but i’d check Kitboga’s channel, he is usually screwing around with scammers in insane ways

… I haven’t found one that works well with dialog, fixed sized, or modal windows well enough to not get annoying,
This so, so much. I:ve been on Sway (and i3 before) for a long time and this is such a pain in the ass.
Most gui programs that do more than a simple window just don’t work well with them, dialogs filling up half your screen because of tiling, programs with detachable panels that turn into windows cannot be attached again because the main window doesn’t detect it (puddletag is an example I’ve came across recently).
I know I can setup some rules to make the windows float or have the correct behavior, but it’s just too much to fix every single broken dialog I encounter.

I’ve heard so too. Might be worth giving Plasma a shot on my current shitbox of a laptop to see if it can handle it. Though that thing (about 6 years old, btw) chokes on anything that involves graphics, so I don’t have any high hopes
Edit: After a few weeks, tried out Plasma on my Fedora setup. Really liked it, everything worked out of the box, feels like using the good parts of the windows ui without the bad parts, just a few small issues here and there (keyboard didn’t work on the lock screen like once or twice). Sadly, the laptop is too crap to run it, constant swapping on zram, everything fell sluggish, it froze once even.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•I can't use Linux! It's too hard!English
1·3 months agoHonestly yes. A few years ago when I was still getting into linux I’d customize the shit out of everything, wm with lengthy configuration, mostly terminal apps, “minimal” ui with custom made themes, and all that.
My current fedora system is almost default Sway with a few convienent shortcuts and a few tweaks, using GUIs where it makes sense or simply because I just want something nice. I just don’t have time or the need for something so customized. Defaults are good.
Heck, I’m even considering switching to Plasma once I get a better PC (gonna need to sell a kidney or two for that to happen tho), since default Sway still requires considerable tweaking and there’s a few quirks I just don’t want to deal with.
Hold on, the files for Caine’s and Bubble’s AI are written in lisp! Pretty nice detail they added there, since LISP was commonly used in early AI developments. Didn’t notice it before.
Props to you for learning C++, its a neat powerful language, although it has grown quite overcomplicated through the years.
Though if you want something a bit easier, you can also use Python for Qt development through the PySide6 library. It is one of the officially supported Qt languages alongside C++ and JS. I’ve personally used it for a few programs and it works wonderfully, it is one of my favorite ways to make GUIs for myself, it just works™
