There also only seems to be one comment chain mentioning the AI, which has been mod deleted. The test of the comments don’t mention AI or aren’t critical because of the AI.

11·19 days agoHaven’t heard the news? Trump and US Government have “officially” changed the name for the whole world. He decided it’s “Super Intelligence” now.

31·20 days agoI don’t use the notification functionality so take this recommendation worth a grain of salt, but I’ve been liking Donetick.

5·1 month agoI also use this service.
There’s a pretty nicely made HACS module that allows me to scrape my Toyota Prius data and do whatever I want with it in HA. I can even remote start from it, and have an automation that auto starts my car on hot or cold days 15 minutes before the end of my shift.
Big caveats: the remote features are subscription. You get many years for free when you buy new, but mine is actually close to lapsing now and I don’t think I’m going to pay for more. I doubt the plugin will continue to work as is one that happens.

If people want to use a service you’re putting in the effort (and money) hosting, they can put in the effort to learn how to access it, however you choose. Otherwise they can kick rocks.
I like dokuwiki.
What makes you think it’s AI text?
Wasn’t Eufy caught uploading data workout consent? Memory is a little fuzzy but I believe it was something like thumbnails being stored in an insecure cloud whether you liked it or not.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do any self hostable security cameras support a VPN to upload footage to another site?English
11·2 months agoTheir title and post mention VPNs multiple times. The P is Private. They also mention wanting to use their own storage, again implying privacy. Their entire post implies they care about privacy.

1·2 months agoWhile I agree that sucked hard, it’s not exactly a like comparison to the software in OP.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do any self hostable security cameras support a VPN to upload footage to another site?English
82·2 months agoRecommending Eufy to someone specifically asking for privacy focused suggestions is wild.
They were caught, and admitted to, lying about being offline only, and storing unencrypted thumbnails, if memory serves. They got fined for it and I’m sure they say they’re doing better but how can you trust them after that?
I would avoid Eufy given the context of post, OP.
First I’m hearing about it.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Critical Keycloak Vulnerability (CVSS 9.1) - CVE-2026-18963English
3·2 months agoI appreciate you taking the time to write this out, but I knew all of that and didn’t really address the question. I was asking why the commenter above mine was using an auth service, like Keycloak, on LAN.
It has been answered a few times, thanks.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Critical Keycloak Vulnerability (CVSS 9.1) - CVE-2026-18963English
7·2 months agoOut of curiosity, what is the advantage of using something like this on LAN only?

It has been an upsetting thread to read; in frustrated on your behalf OP. I think many commenters here have not worked in the kind of environment you’re describing, and “get another job” is deeply unhelpful advice.
