Lemmy is doing fine. There’s a substantial amount of content and most of it is decent. I don’t feel a need to inflate it by spending my time posting articles. I do feel a need to occasionally point out how obnoxious it is to see the same person spamming a dozen articles that they didn’t actually read one after another.
It does not contribute to making Lemmy any better. It does contribute to their weird little ego fixation with the idea that spamming random shit is some sort of achievement.
You’re right, I should spam 100 posts per day without even reading them. This would be a much more substantial contribution than participating in discussions.
You literally spend all day spamming articles you don’t read, making a massive pile of zero engagement garbage to flood the feed with. You’re basically a bot made of meat.
This is true. I regularly get a kick out of watching professionals using the same headphones.
If you’re playing games where directional audio matters, I would strongly recommend monitor headphones. It makes it much easier to figure out exactly where sound is coming from. I have Sony MDRs and I love them.
For a mic, there are some great options out there that are reasonably inexpensive. I have a Blue Snowball that’s lasted the better part of a decade and still works great, and I know that there are others at a similar price point that might even be better by now. Check out reviews from humans, whether text or video. Boom arms go a long way toward minimizing background noise from desk vibration, and also make it easier to adjust the placement of the mic.
Cute, but if realistic probably a good argument for ordering books on the internet.
If people do things differently, one of them must be bad!!!
