Oh. Ok thanks. I need to do my research.

Yikes.
I’ve dabbled with LR enough to know the basics but haven’t done much in the way of importing files, so most of my photos are sat in storage.
I want to be rid of Adobe entirely. Is Immich as straightforward to use as LR?
Thought so! Like a Bob Ross happy accident. 😊 Thanks again.
Hah! Just watched the video. So it looks like you won’t have a real idea how it’s exactly going to turn out - looking at the method. It must be a nice surprise with each slice of a batch.
This is beautiful. Excellent effect! How’d you get that? Is it like wax, ie you have a bit of time before it sets to make swirly patterns?
Edit: have just found many more amazing designs on your page. But you don’t ship to the UK! Argh.
Nicely placed little steps up to the water for the minibeasts!

Ok fine I can live with that.
But <attempts to attach file to send to wherever>.
Windows: No! That file is open! You cannot.
What.
I just want to say, to no one in particular…
Our ‘home’ MacBook was end of life / support recently (2017 intel). I backed up then nuked the OS and replaced it with Mint/Cinnamon.
My wife (who is very definitely NOT technical in any way) has embraced this and carried on with no issues so far, with FF and LibreOffice. It’s been nearly 6mo and no home IT support required.
Edit: I think the point I’m trying to make is: if she can crack on with most regular tasks that really boil down to browser + office tools, and not be overly bothered about what the OS is, then there’s hope for people to migrate - especially with how distros have become so accessible of late.
