Probably. It tries to run a .sh script on first launch as sudo, but fails. Even if you run it manually, it still didn’t seem to fix it. There is a bug report for it somewhere that’s been open for 2 years. Valve officially only supports the package version of Steam for SteamVR, not Flatpak, so it’s unlikely to get fixed.

Yeah that fixes some things, but there is a sudo command it tries to run that has some sort of pathing issue in the Flatpak version.

It’s deeper than that. It tries to run a function with sudi that fails every time, but the prompt for a password never appears.

Unfortunately, SteamVR with Flatpak is busted unless you use something like WiVRn. If you try to use something like the Steam Link app on an Android-based VR headset to do direct SteamVR streaming, it won’t work on the Flatpak because of permissions.
Source: Been wishing I could use SteamVR on my gaming PC for a while without a third party solution.

Technically Proton supports Wayland. It’s just not the default. You can override it with a launch flag to use Wayland.

Your colleague sucked at automation. Normally, I’d say no one should be bothered on vacation, but in this case you should have called him on his vacation, since he didn’t value anyone else’s time either.

I’m amazed that they’re still trying to trudge forward with the shit 12V High Power connector. There clearly is too much margin for error in the tolerances somewhere.

How’s that vibe coding going Microslop?
OpenSUSE used to use yum and then briefly dnf. Zypper is fairly recent in the last several years.
There is nothing wrong with using your distro’s app center. Often it will save you extra steps by updating things like Flatpaks as well, if you use them (or Snaps, if you’re an insane person).
Yum was used on way more than Yellow Dog Linux. CentOS, Fedora, RHEL, etc all did

They use LetsEncrypt. There is literally a bot you can install to automate the renewal process daily on a cron schedule and notify you if it fails.
They’re just fucking morons managing the infra for their domain.

Maybe if they whip the overworked employees more before they lay them off 6 weeks after launch, it’ll come out fully optimized and fleshed out this time. Hasn’t worked any of the thousands of times before, but by golly maybe it will this time.

Plasma BigScreen or Flex Launcher

Maybe…and I’m just spitballing here…they shouldn’t have to? It’s kind of the job of the development team to make a functional, fun, and relatively bug-free game.

Up to you, but unless you’re doing something that needs 128GB, 64GB is already overkill.

All three of my PCs running Linux have 16GB in them. Never run out of RAM.

Half my family uses this shit. The normies fucking love it. I get ChatGPT summary links, “black and white pictures turned color”, Suno generated songs, or AI generated caricatures of family members all the time, unfortunately.
Yeah. My phone keyboard did an oops.
