ok i guess this means like. friend lobbies for multiplayer games integrated within the launcher. or something like this
but seeing this with no context in a roadmap is very funny

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•What DE (Desktop Environments) or graphical interfaces can be controlled with a gamepad?English
3·2 months agokde can be controlled with a gamepad (tho it’s a setting you need to activate first), but in my experience it was pretty janky. maybe it’s better now? it’s an option to consider, at least
they also have plasma bigscreen which works better with a controller, but since it’s pretty recent (iirc it only got added in plasma 6.7, the latest major release) i doubt it will be in debian’s repos

10·3 months agothis is a snapshot, so bugs like these are to be expected. it’s almost certainly getting fixed before the full release
one previous snapshot had a known bug where if the vulkan renderer (back then the default iirc) was used on macos, the entire screen would be pink upon joining a world, making the game unplayable. it got fixed in the following snapshot.

1·5 months agoif you’re on a single player world, that’s up to you to decide! it’s your world, your rules. i personally consider it a bit broken so i don’t do it, but i also consider iron farms broken so my opinion is probably not representative.
if you’re playing on a server, consult with other players, or check the rules/ask admins if it’s a big server with established rules.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Sometimes people like to complain about windows and iOS
0·1 year agothat’s very cool and good job to anyone who managed this, but they’re all either 10 years old, have a bunch of broken essential features, or both… not exactly an iOS replacement

Technology@beehaw.org•Framework under fire for Omarchy/DHH/Hyprland support?
1·1 year agothe problem with framework is that their products are quite a bit worse than their competitors (outside of repairability, ofc)
you buy their stuff because you want to support them and their values
…so what happens when their values aren’t worth supporting anymore?
there are other repairable laptop manufacturers out there, not as hype-y as framework for sure but still repairable, like System76, Tuxedo, Slimbook, etc.

4·1 year ago…do you pronounce GIMP with a soft G?
for all 3 of these projects the main way ive heard them said is with a hard G, i know there is a debate with GNOME as to pronounce the G or not (as in the word “gnome”), idk if a similar debate exists with GNU
imo, there’s no wrong way to pronounce a word, as long as people know what you’re talking about, it’s fine

Technology@lemmy.world•The Document Foundation is proud to release LibreOffice 25.8English
2·1 year agoidk, but the G in GIMP (ugh) does stand for GNU
i wonder if it’s also the official reason that it’s (typically) pronounced in GNOME?

Technology@lemmy.world•The Document Foundation is proud to release LibreOffice 25.8English
51·1 year agohonestly kinda disappointed they switched to calendar versioning, it makes identifying big releases much harder
GNU IMP (i refuse to say the short name) 3.0.0 was such an event, it’s sad knowing libreoffice can’t really have that
