It’s Free Software; if they want to change the branding, they can fork it. I say fuck the haters of .lol and anime catgirls.

Corpos might get to use our work gratis (since that’s the only way we can make it libre for everyone), but we don’t have to cater to them.

The font and color match the shutdown screen from release versions of MS Windows 95, as far as I can tell / if I recall correctly.

(Also IIRC, ACPI was new enough that MS Windows 95 [or any software] couldn’t actually turn off most of the machines it was installed on, which is why the screen exists at all.)

Maybe at some point in the far past, certainly before Linus started Linux, if ever.

The Halloween Documents tell us it wasn’t this century.

The future for S. Korea looks bleak, not better.

I agree that infinite growth was always impossible, but in some countries birth rate is well below replacement rate (if they matched, population would be stable, not growing), and in many birth rate + immigration rate is also below replacement rate – we are failing not at growth, but “mere” stability.

I don’t think it is shrinking globally, yet. But, some countries (e.g. South Korea) are in dire situations due to shrinking and aging population already.
