Not really sure they do anything “better”, it’s mainly for convenience. It’s an all-in-one solution with a nice UI and sane defaults. That helps me have a somewhat consistent setup across all my hosted services. If you’re happy with managing Nginx directly, then you probably have no reason to use these.
I migrated from vanilla Nginx Proxy Manager to NPMplus (because of CrowdSec), and it defaults to short-lived certificates. Other than temporarily making my Uptime Kuma SSL monitors completely freak out because my certificates “were too close to expiration”, everything still works exactly the same.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Email for self hosted services? (Not personal email)English
6·1 month agoI’m hosting Mailcow in a cheap VPS, for both personal/family and system emails. Not something I’d necessarily recommend (it’s overkill for your requirements anyway), but the initial setup and maintenance are not nearly as difficult as people will try to make you believe. Before that I just used Gmail. You can point your sending application to
smtp.gmail.com, STARTLS on port 587 or SSL on port 465, username is your email address, and a Gmail app password you create beforehand.

It would be worth mentioning in your post that these are made with the spicy auto-complete robot, and to what extent it was used.
Around 400W, including switches and access points.
