Thanks. Been so long since I’ve used vnc that I couldn’t remember.

If you want a full complete remote desktop solution, you should probably look at VNC and portforwarding its port. I think it’s 3001.
Or if you won’t (or can’t) mess with port forwards, you could setup something like RustDesk for the TeamViewer experience.

I’ve seen self-hosted matrix servers with 500+ users. So I don’t think it’s a cap, more of a recommendation.

The remote stuff is free
For now…

CPU usage on the server is about 5-10% (it does loads of other things too), so home assistant is not using much.

Maybe about 18 repeaters all over the house.

Thanks. All the plugs and bulbs are routers, so I have about 20 routers in the network, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

I’ve repaired an item or two multiple times the last couple of days.

I could be close to the limit, I have about 46 devices on the ConBee2. But it is a new problem, I would have thought this would be happening as soon as I started nearing the limit, not months after it.

I have not added anything new in the last couple of months.
Jellyfin is free. What price? :D

Almost true.
It is pretty picky, as it expects a certain folder structure to get all the info correct when importing. But it is fairly easy to go in and manually “fetch” the correct metadata from one of the metadata providers (Amazon, Google Books, Open Library etc). It’s a chore if you have big library with many different structures, but doable if you don’t want to rename all folders.

Fair. I have never had a Home Video library, so I don’t know how those are scanned or what they are looking for other than embedded metadata. But yes, sounds like that library type has some issues.

I’ve had initial scans take hours and scans afterwards usually also take some minutes. Why do you think that is an unreasonable amount of time to check all entries for updated metadata?
unending != 40 minutes.

No obvious AI use in the github repo. So probably CBH, but better to get confirmation from @sanitation@lemmy.today .
I use my Nextcloud instance as a OIDC provider for all my other apps.

It would cost around €10000 for me to get a system appropriate for my house. So it will take a while.
I don’t know why you are annoyed by this.
You use an automatic tool. It’s bound to fail or make a mistake once in a while.
The “uploader” likely knew this, so they had some fun. It’s not like what you are doing is legal or anything. “Le me go complain on my blog about someone messing with how I do my illegal activites”.
