Once youbuave cloudflared installed on a host, it created an inbound tunnel to whatever IP you configure. This server, and a bunch of other servers i have running, are running across a single clodludflare tunnel. It allows me to keep everything separate and automatically fixes when my public ip changes.

It also masks your public IP from prying eyes.

Did anyone actually expect them to?

Yeah… I’ll run the old ones as long as they’re still available… I think Steam isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

I have a fairly new AMD 9070XT in my rig… I should get at least 5 more years out of that…at which point I’ll make the decision…

The goal is to move gaming to “the cloud” as a part of their “You’ll own nothing and like it” philosophy…

Step one is to make home gaming prohibitively expensive…

They’re going to cut the bloat a little to get people who are windows 10 holdouts to move…

I wouldn’t put Windows into my server environment if someone paid me for the privlege. There is exactly one (Windows10) box in my house, belongs to my youngest son, and the minute it goes end of life he’s moving to Fedora too.

Yeah I’m not a big fan of multiplayer games… Except for WoW and even that has come to suck…

if it’s multiplayer only or primarily multiplayer it doesn’t get my money. Not interested.

Haven’t played BF6…they borked it on Linux and I’m not willing to debase myself by installing windows to play it… ;-)

Fedora here…I tried arch once…not for me.

I didn’t realize that Huawei had figured out how to install spyware on RAM…

So I have filesystem backups of the entire thing (using proxmox backup server) and a replicated image of the docker-volume and all subvolumes that’s both snapped locally and replicated to a NAS at my condo about 200 miles away.

I think I’m covered. I even tried brinigng up the server on the Truenas there and it worked like a champ…All I ahve to do is fail my cloudflared over and everything would automatically come up on the remote location without me even having to muck about with DNS.

I don’t mess with Git…I should…but that’s a new set of lessons. :)
