Unless this thing is dirt cheap (it won’t be), that sounds awful. Just skip it.

That is highly board dependent. The MS auto-delivered BIOS updates for my work computer just…go. I only realize they happen when I’m greeted by a lengthy BIOS update bar when I try to start my computer for the day.

Everything the poster above experienced is common. For example, Windows Updates fuck with your BIOS without warning to ‘streamline the update experience’. You don’t get any special prompt, they just do it.

If it sounds unbelievable
Sounds quite believable and what we should expect. Good on Steam for having the customer’s back and processing a refund when EA neuters the customer’s game.

Amazing how there needs to be constant and repeated backlash just so your OS treats you with a tiny bit of respect. (Windows still spies and advertises to you, despite the backlash)
This is pretty common with just-getting-started communities like this one. You usually only have one or two people posting content until the group grows.
Please post more if you have any. The more the merrier!

Nobody in 2003 bought digital licenses for the OG Xbox. Basically every current owner of these games (ex: Crimson Skies) will be forced to repurchase it to take advantage of the advertised “backwards compatibility”.
This is not backwards compatibility as Microsoft claims, this is a PC port.

Microsoft’s branding is intensely confusing. These are not backward compatible games. If you own it on Xbox, you CANNOT play it on PC.
These are PC ports for classic Xbox games that require a re-purchase.

I have personally logged two support tickets with Microsoft, support tickets that use paid-for tokens my company gets a limited number of per year. Even when providing a reproducible to Microsoft support, they just waste my time. Round and round goes the support ticket until I give up and they close the ticket. I have some friends who report the same experience.
Pretty effective on their part. They get paid to do jack shit and get a nice ‘ticket closed’ in their logs. Probably great for advancement, just look at those KPIs!

The biggest issue is they take years between seasons. People lose interest.
The first two shows they mention coming out with a season 2 recently had their season 1 release in 2023!

The dumbest part is: it is perfectly legal to make a gun for 99% of Americans. The entire ‘ghost gun’ attack angle is doomed to failure.
And it isn’t just 3D printing; the New York bill includes all computerized manufacturing; it very explicitly includes CNC machines, for example. They are taking down entire manufacturing sectors to go after an unwinnable goal.

This would probably land as a fun PR move if Microsoft wasn’t so shitty themselves. As it stands, just seems cynical.
Also, XBOX…is Microsoft…
You can boot to the 500GB drive, do a game backup in Steam, then boot into the 2TB drive and import the backup you made.
If you want even easier. You can always re-download them in Steam.
