That’s good to hear. I just recently ordered some of that phase change material for my 6700 XT. I’m hoping it’s going to rein in the temps a bit. I’ve also seen my card hit 110°C tjunction which is decidedly not excellent.

No mention of thermals. My RX 6700XT is like a freaking space heater. I hope things have improved on the AMD side in that regard.
That’s janky as hell, I love it.
Let’s add Bryan Lunduke and his shitty “distro” to this list as well. https://github.com/BryanLunduke/LCOS
For those out of the loop: He’s not a straight up Nazi supporter like DHH, but Lunduke is vocally anti-LGBTQ and commonly criticizes LGBTQ support from other distro maintainers. Notice the “No weird politics” line in the screenshot on his Github. That’s what he’s referring to.

The point isn’t that an easy option for the bypass exists, but that a bypass is required at all. It shouldn’t be.

This might sound crazy, but you don’t have to shutdown your computer every time you’re done using it. You can just lock the screen and walk away.

Go GOG!
Haha, I feel that switch to LTS only releases. I was upgrading to every release in the beginning as well but it started to get old real fast. I run Mint nowdays. In the early days I loved testing new distros and tweaking around with my system, but after over a decade working in tech the last thing I want to do in my free time is have to fix my own computer.

I will not ignore the cat pic, in fact I enjoyed it, tyvm.
Mine is just Debian.
Gnome and KDE both suck but in opposite ways. Want to change a behavior in Gnome? Well you better hope there’s an extension for that. Want to change a behavior in KDE? Sure. Good luck finding the fucking setting for it though. XFCE and Cinnamon are where it’s at. We also give a pass to MATE.
NOTE: These are my personal opinions and not a personal attack on you if you enjoy Gnome/KDE. Freedom of choice! 😁

I had been using Heroic Launcher to manage my GOG library on Linux. It works well enough, but an official Linux native GOG client would certainly be welcome.

KDE MFs be like, “it’s very intuitive.” Meanwhile it looks like this:

Around 2006 I watched a video on YouTube of a guy showing off Pendrive Linux booting from a USB drive and it blew my mind that you could run an entire OS from a lowly USB drive. I then made my own and used it to play games on the computers at my middle school and have been unfortunately addicted to Linux ever since. Later on in my 20s I took a Linux class in college and my professor was really impressed I already knew so much about Linux. 8 years of “brute forcing it” taught me quite a bit. Now I’m a jaded network administrator and have also settled on Mint because the last thing I want to do in my free time is fix my own fucking computer.
