I use Prometheus with various exporters pushed to Grafana which I have displayed on a small screen running on a ROCK Pi in my office

Hah, fair play but have you considered that I may actually be using Helix. What say you now, then?
Oh, I see you work at the cyber security firm I used to work for

1·2 months agoAnd how do you keep noise/heat down?
I keep it all down in my unfinished basement away from everything 😅
But for real, I got a used fully enclosed server rack for pretty cheap ($300 CADish) from a company who was moving entirely to the cloud and that thing can keep a lot of noise contained. I have three servers and a chunky network switch so its all pretty loud but when I close the rack’s door it reduces the volume by at least 50%. If its open I’m easily able to hear it from my ground floor but not otherwise
I just moved my EXT4 home folder off of my old Cachy install onto my new NixOS install on a different drive before decided to stick with just installing a fresh CachyOS on that same drive meaning a reformatting. I had meant to just copy the files so now I basically just nuked all my data :(
Mad at myself right now as I’m seeing if i can save any data using ddrescue and DMDE

9·3 months agoI’m actually not sure and can’t find any information on that but if I were to make an uneducated guess, it would be that the statues themselves weren’t really a part of the original building plan; just the spots for them were with the expectation that they’d be added over the years like art on the wall would be.
But again that’s just a complete guess so take that with a grain of salt
