You, since you’re arguing for a non-existent option where OP somehow respects the mutually incompatible visions of 2 different groups of engineers.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•[CBH] PdfDing has migrated to CodebergEnglish
1·2 months agoIs it possible to point to a container folder to import from instead of uploading from the interface? I already have all my files in a folder structure on the server i’m running pdfding from.
It seems quite good, would be very nice not to need to upload every file a second time.

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•The bigwigs who want AI-generated NPCs and writing think you're too dumb to appreciate a good story—don't prove them rightEnglish
1·2 months agoNo, in the case of llms this is not the appropriate use, but hallucinations in the context of “ai” is a specific phenomenon.
For instance, in automated transcription, hallucination is when noise is incorrectly interpreted to be coherent speech and entire pieces of conversation are steered in wildly different directions.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Unofficial "collection" torrentsEnglish
1·2 months agoAh, yeah, Radarr is a library-first kind of deal. You are supposed to add to it and then find the files.
As someone else mentioned you can add collections, there is probably one for your specific interests. If not you do need to do it manually, or you have to manually copy the files then import an existing library and manually match them there.

1·2 months agoClick the little man shaped icon to the right of the download bar. That allows you to import files manually from that torrent.

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Ubuntu is growing faster on Windows 11 than on Linux PCs, says CanonicalEnglish
1·2 months agoIt’s hilarious that even my mother (a somewhat technical person, used to use Ubuntu on a hand-me-down laptop of mine) explicitly asked me “what ever happened to Ubuntu? I stopped using it when they started using that weird new install system”
One brief explanation later, we’re putting bazzite on the home pc because win 10 is going out of support.

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Ex-BioWare Producer Says Players Are Good at “Identifying Problems” But Not Providing Solutions Because “They're Not Developers”English
5·2 months agoToo bad the vast majority of issues with BioWare games have nothing to do with development, and everything to do with casualization of gameplay, lack of cohesive vision, and each iteration not giving a fuck about the world and the lore established in the previous one.

1·2 months agoI found 3: my Bluetooth headphones started working correctly (toggling between call and high quality mode automatically), the centered start menu is nicer and I even set it up on KDE plasma, and winget, though I have no idea if it exists on 10.
And of course those cowards don’t post links.
