He/Him 🏳️🌈 🏴☠️
Opinionated Linux Nerd and Gay Furry. Anti-Ai.
Same happened to be back when I tried the flatpak version.
Edit: Also to add to this, I had issues recently when trying to load a game with Proton from a drive I had manually mounted but not added to fstab yet. I tried a Linux native game on the same drive and it worked however.
It’s just kinda to stupid to treat anyone as infallible.
It kinda comes with being a human.
I’m probably overstating, I admit to spending too much time talking to “capital G gamers” and a while back something went around about “We’ve reached the limit of x86 and Nvidia’s new ARM processors will be the future of PC gaming”
I’ve had at least two separate people go on long winded rants about it to me, so now my eye twitches anytime I hear someone mention it.
More people need to take this into account.
Even until semi-recently a lot games were 32bit only. Luckily we got projects like WOW64 for Wine/Proton that’s helping assure compatibility of older games in the future when 32bit libraries are completely dropped by most distros. But that still takes time to work out all the edge cases.
Same thing for the people heavily pushing for everyone to SWITCH TO ARM RIGHT NOW!
I like Arm (I’d prefer RISC-V) but I like video games being preserved, playable and as easily accessible as possible for people more than any shiny new hardware.
I’ll assume op is an Nvidia user since the only times I’ve had driver issues after an update was the few months when I still had a GTX card.
Switched to AMD and literally no issues the last 2 years.
DX11 is just more stable even on Windows.
M$ kinda screwed up with DX12 I still remember Battlefield 1 being unplayable on DX12 mode even on the new PC I built just to play that game on the highest settings.
What’s the keycaps on the top corners? I’ve been looking for something like them.
super rare now except for Nvidia
Which for PC gamers holds the majority of the market…
Apparently I’m the only person on this site that knows about Notepadqq.
People still act like world governments spying on civilians is still a conspiracy theory even though it’s written into law in multiple countries at this point…
Shhhh the CLI purists haven’t figured out what icons are yet.
I mentioned it in my own comment but there’s a pretty much 1 to 1 clone of Notepad++ on Linux called Notepadqq
I reinstalled my system at somepoint and just decided to used Kate since I didn’t have NPQQ installed.
It ended up having everything I needed from NPQQ.
Fave: Kate
First: GNOME Text Editor
Future: Kate
Honourable Mention: Notepadqq used it for a after when I first switched from Windows where I used Notepad++
Least Liked: Vim
Current: Kate
Most used: Kate
For anything CLI related I use Micro.
