The reason Plex is as popular as it is is because of their infrastructure and software that lets users stream video and music remotely on any device at the press of a button. That costs money to build and maintain.
Oh hi there person who I’ve upset by expressing my opinion who is now wanting to go back through my post history to find something to use against me! If you’re reading this, it’s because you’ve already lost the argument :)

The only exception to this is IMO ones that (I like)
Oh are we just making up quotes now? Fun! Why did you say this?
Because, again, it is about managing risk of turning into a newt.
No one is at risk of turning into a newt, witches aren’t real! You silly billy!
If we stick to just what people actually said though, you’d see that I said that the ones you can trust to not keep logs and as such actually keep you safe from tracking are who you should use.

If you don’t trust the VPN you use then why do you even use a VPN?
Again - no one is doing any “stanning”. I never said don’t take precautions. One precaution is to thoroughly investigate the VPN company that you choose to use. The entire point of PIA is privacy. If they started lying not only would they get sued beyond belief, but they wouldn’t exist anymore.

Wow that’s really something of a reply lol. No one is “stanning” for anything. Who is defining themself by what they consume?

Get “tilted”? What on earth? Is that reddit slang?
it’s not going to change the fact that most Lemmy users don’t give a shit about playing corporate slop games from EA.
Only because they can’t because they all use Linux. And again with the “corporate slop” rubbish? Really? lol. What about Battlefield 6 is “corporate slop”? I can’t wait to hear this.
You have very strong Reddit energy which is catching me off guard. Very strange to see someone defending microsoft/ea on the fediverse. Stranger yet to see someone basically rage commenting about it haha.
You have to be a parody account, right? Right? Like there’s no way a person actually says these things and thinks this way, even on here…right? You just can’t get reddit off your mind lol.

Makes zero sense to use a dedicated music server if you also have other media to serve. Plex and Plexamp for me, haven’t seen anything better on the market.

I didn’t downvote you because I disagreed with you, I downvoted you because your comments add nothing to the conversation and are essentially pointless spam.
I think maybe you’re the one who needs to go back to Reddit though, not me. That’s 2 comments in a row you’ve brought it up without so much as a mention of it from me lol

Sony just announced a USD$50 increase to all their PS5 models literally the day MS said this. MS are just waiting to see what the market is doing so they can jack the price up to meet it. They don’t want to announce $500 if everyone else jumps up to $600.
These are premium, low volume, enthusiast devices - the exact price doesn’t really matter before it releases. The people that are buying one are already going to buy one, and we know the general price range that it will be in.

Microsoft has zero capacity, competency or even desire to stand behind this over things like game streaming.
Said like someone who doesn’t understand why Microsoft are in gaming to begin with.

lol “Battlefield 6 is corporate slop” is certainly a hot take (a great tag to give you too haha). I’m sure you only enjoy the finest of artistic games that are all anti-establishment and must be played on DIY hardware using solar power.

You think they’ve started lying and keeping logs since then?

Have fun not playing the biggest game of the year I guess, along with all the other most played games of the year.

NEVER trust a VPN.
The only exception to this is IMO ones that have been proven in court to keep NO logs, like they claim. The only one I know of that has been tested is PrivateInternetAccess, which is why they’re the only VPN I’ve used for like 10 years.

I feel like browser extensions are one of the worst things to have come to the internet in terms of security. People just install them like they’re nothing, assuming they’re safe and secure because they’re on the extension store - not a terrible assumption for the average person, tbf.
Basically every single extension you install is like “hey give me access to everything you type and everything you click on and every site you visit, and I’ll change every instance of the word “Elon” to “fElon” for you. Sound fair?”, and everyone just goes “Hell yeah! Let’s do it!”.

Did she have a portfolio that went beyond school work? Coders are like artists you need a portfolio showing you can do shit without being told to.
As a developer who has hired dozens of developers, you definitely don’t. It makes no difference, especially in this day and age of AI being able to make websites and programs with ease.

That’s what happens when everyone rushes to do the same qualification - you get too many people for that area of work. More graduates doesn’t magically make more jobs - it just makes more people applying for the same amount of jobs.

A few things here…
I’ve already played the game for 20+ hours. I loved almost every second of it, and some of the things I didn’t have already been addressed. They’re taking player feedback seriously.
Battlefield 6 is made by a whole new studio, not “EA DICE”, helmed by one of the best in the history of the industry for these games - Vince Zampella.
Not everything by EA is bad, and anyone saying anything like that is immediately showing they shouldn’t be listened to.
Again - I’ve already played the game via the beta. I know I’m going to have an absolute blast. I didn’t like the last few BF games, so I didn’t buy them. This one is a return to form from what everyone has seen and played.
You tell me to “cope away” while basing your entire opinion on a wikipedia article that’s pretty much got nothing to do with the actual game that’s being discussed lol. Who is “coping”?

You doubt I’ll be having a blast playing Battlefield 6? Why?

Cool imagination you got there kid.
Why would you bother with jellyfin locally if you have Plex also locally? It does nothing better.
