  • i mean, lets face it.

Unless you are overclocking, a Hyper212 will do almost the same same job, for 20-30 dollars, that a 120-190 dollar Noctua HSF will do. and the couple of degrees of difference you might have sure as fuck aint worth the 6x price increase.

and lets be real, if you are overclocking…why keep it always on? the CPU probably already boosts to those overclocked speeds under load anyway, so why add the extra stress and shortened life?

20 years ago I would understand why. 20 years ago I overclocked as well, because you got actual, legitimately, daily use improvement out of it… But with modern CPUs auto-overclocking themselves with boost (And it being under warranty to boot), I just don’t see the point anymore for everyday use.

  • Normal Person: “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse”

bnn1: “WELL, ACTUALLY, thats a lie because the average human stomach can only hold a maximum of about 4 liters of equivalent content, and a horses edible components break down into a far greater volume than 4 liters, as you should well know, making it fundamentally impossible for a human beings stomach, much less body, to be able to consume even a fraction of a horse before suffering egregious emergency harm. Not Funny”

  • I would put a hard astrisk on that statment.

While technically true, some distos are much, much easier to get off the ground for gaming than others, and drastically reduce the level of effort that the end user has to put in.

Nobara is a great gaming distro that I’ll use for example because I use it. everythings configured and ready to go out of the box and basically just install steam and install your games and go. You don’t have to install anything, compile anything, configure anything.

its all there, complete with automatic updaters already installed that make updating it all easy peasy.

Can you do that on ubuntu? yes, but its gonna take a lot more work and you’ll have to manually do it all.

  • No, not even a random idiot believes any random unverified claim… and they are even more suspicious of things that tickles their fancy and aligns with what they want to hear, because they are aware of how easy it is to slip into complacency and sacrifice their critical thinking for comfortable outrage.

Also, even a random idiot could do a cursory search to find

    § 205.241 Avian living conditions.

For layers and all other fully feathered birds, artificial light may be used to prolong the day length, to provide up to 16 hours of continuous light per 24-hour period (i.e., minimum of 8 hours of continuous darkness per 24-hour period). Artificial light intensity should be lowered gradually to encourage hens to move to perches or settle for the night. Artificial light spectrum may not be manipulated to increase feed intake and growth rate.

But that doesnt let us wallow in comfortable outrage, so of course we’re not gonna do that.

  • I’d argue that SC4 is still the best city builder, even better than Cities Skylines 1 (definitely better than the bullshit sundae that is Cities Skylines 2).

Congrats on getting it working on linux, I’ve never gotten that far with it personally…

    How did you manage?

God what I wouldnt give for a remaster of SC4, just enough work to get it working on modern OS without issue, maybe change the engine to 64bit if at all feasible for more ram awareness.
