This is very sound advice. Pretty similar to my infrastructure. The gl-inet travel router already with wireguard to VPN into my home network is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I had the coral already, and for the purpose it works pretty well. Still have to see how well it handles 11 cameras. The reason I need the TPU is because the recognition is done by frigate, not by the camera.
Yeah, that’s what I’ll go with in my house, with frigate in HASS and a Coral TPU.
Wao, I got ripped off. I’m a fucking moron.

1·2 months agoGood luck. I hope you can get those on the cheap. I ended up wiring everything I could in the house, including streaming devices, consoles PCs, etc. The APs are basically only handling phones, tablets and some wifi IoT switches (matter over WiFi) to my home Assistant. Everything else is wired. I could not be happier. 11 PoE cameras, my wife almost had a heart attack when she saw that invoice 🤣

2·3 months agoIt seems like it’s a subscription from what I can tell. I see some people buying ‘lifetime’ subscriptions in the play store reviews, so I’m guessing that’s the case. Now, it also looks like it’s from one lone developer with 27 contributors in GitHub. The app can be downloaded from GitHub (I would use obtainium for that), so that’s a good thing. I think supporting developments like this via a subscription (assuming it’s not crazy expensive) should be normalized if the product is good enough. On that factor, I can’t really comment since I just KeePass the hell out of my credentials over Syncthing, but I do believe there’s value in supporting developers like this guy.

1·1 year agoSure, that is your reality, and I respect that you are sure that’s the case (and in many cases it is), but I happen to believe that there are shades of gray from the whitest white to the darkest black. So you do you, I’ll follow my own reality.
I think we can easily be in agreement that following a man or woman because of religion is, not only detrimental, but also dangerous. Whatwe will certainly disagree on is that, for me, Jesus is God, and for you, believing that makes me n irrational sheep. And that’s cool, I don’t think that should be a reason for one of us to hate the other, or even simply be angry (or anything similar, my English vocabulary is not too extensive).
I brought up religion because it was brought up. So, yeah, I’m not one of those that goes around pushing my believes on others, but the moment I see Jesus attacked, I will defend Him the same way He died for me on that cross.

Yup, I have it installed in my OPNSense and together they make a fucking fortress
