I think the joke here was that the logo mentioned looks like an asshole. And that ai is so prevalent it is the first thing coming to mind, not necessarily that they dont know what that letter is called…

I installed battlenet in steam/proton using a random guide i googled up. I think it used the default proton as well, anyway: once you have that bnet running it will install its games into that same prefix, so in my experience once bnet runs all of its games do as well.
Yeah thats fair. Personally i’d prefer he didnt use them at all either but i can also sort of understand a (afaik?) hobby coder wanting to reduce their workload, iirc there were even some mental health issues involved that got alleviated by the ai help. And as long as the ai code is identifiable i can mostly live with it.
Says the guy who comes on needlessly strong and then has nothing.
Is that a “no, i dont have any”?
Certainly:
See the update to the article.
Thats what i am going off of, if you have newer info than that i’m sure happy to listen.
AFAIK the dev reversed his stance on ai after the blowback. Do you have newer information that contradicts that? Because otherwise you are both just hating on lutris for no reason.
Pretty cat, but is it even possible to have this pattern naturally? Seems dyed.

10·3 months agoWell you see, if there are fewer drivers included there is more room for user friendly features, such as persistent ai intrusion. You probably also gonna update them anyway, might as well download fresh 😇

I am not a horse person, are the spots on his rear end part of his coat? They look so unusual on that otherwise unicolored dapper sir.

21·3 months agoHow so? Shareholders are the worst cancer on the economy, but at the same time hard to eliminate without a revolution.
The proper order should be that people invest in a company they believe will do well, not because they seek to exert control over it. If you do not believe the company is operating in a profitable manner you should not buy, or sell your, shares.
You state this is wrong. Why? In my opinion, if we must have institutionalized gambling, we should seek to keep it from exerting undue influence, even in the shareholders own long term interest. Of course this would not allow the leadership to just do whatever with the money, reporting and oversight should if anything be improved upon.

21·3 months agoYou give that money to the Corp to get profits in return. Not a say in how the company is run, at least youre not supposed to for healthy business operations. One of, if not the biggest reason that for example steam continues to win is just they are being not overtly greedy and shortsighted. That is obviously a much healthier business model.

17·3 months ago… If i had a company and it were successful, and i decided to go public, i would only issue that kind of voteless share or whatever they are called, so that i would be protected from shareholder pressure to some extent. Was that not clear somehow? Or did you just want to go for the snark

112·3 months agoIs it? That is, if i were to own a public company, the only way i would ever allow anyone else to own a part of it. It is my company, i don’t want fucking shareholders pressure me for more profits and shortsighted decisions. If the vultures want a share of the profits they get just that, not a voice at the table.

God forbid they make a living themselves? Lol
