I firmly believe a fair chunk of the ones who are supporting it on here are either bots or have fully drank the vibe-aid, whereas the people who don’t support it are ( in some communities ) being pushed away because the sloperators/bots are genuinely trying to psy-op us all into giving up our mental faculties to the clankers.

This is my paranoid conspiracy of the moment.

Good to know. I just have a script that does like everything in order, but I could save a line by doing that instead of both beinv separate commands.

Obligatory not an arch user, but I have been thinking of potentially getting thigh highs if I can find purple and white stripped ones. Closest I got is a couple of pairs of soccer/football socks that I recently got, but I kinda wanna change that.

I think I figured out my issue, literally a few minutes ago. I’ve never really dealt with ethernet, so I just learned my bios might have some sort of “wake up on lan” setting enabled that stops me from fully shutting down.

Why would I ever want something like that, though?

I am lucky enough to not have had any problems with calling a shutdown… just now with a problem I recently learned where my desktop treats shutdown as reboot. Definitely gotta look into that.

Forgot this command! Gotta see if it’ll work on my system and not start a restart when I ask for a shutdown!

I hope to high heaven it’s just an OS bug! Tried running this and the poweroff -ff commands and it just reboots my system! Now I am paranoid I somehow got a virus on my system!

I was almost at the point earlier of asking someone if they could help with a wifi card issue, but so glad I don’t have to now. I always feel like I always bungle something up whenever I try to explain what my problem is and/or paste any logs or whatever is needed to help, so I relate to this meme.

Thank goodness for ethernet and my ability to realize I need to add that ethernet connection as a new internet connection. Now I can have internet access and be able to use it to research a card that not only fits, but also works with linux.

Cannot wait until Sony comes out with a study that shows 100% of gamers ( a small handful of people guaranteed not to care about pjydical media ) don’t want it so they can gaslight tge general public into thinking nobody wants it.

Oh boy! Can’t wait to play against that AI and win because it keeps trying to get their pawns to promote instead of using any other pieces!
